Wednesday, April 15, 2015
GDG chair Gina Din Kariuki was in New York during the city's vigil in memory of the students killed during the recent terror attack on Garissa, Kenya. The emotional gathering in New York sang the Kenya national anthem and lit candles as students from all over the world shared poignant stories of terrorism and violence in their own countries. Gina who spoke during the vigil asked that prayers were also said for the students recovering in hospital. She had accompanied Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed to Kenyatta Hospital visiting the young Kenyans who had come face to face with terror.
"The only stains these young people should have are ink stains, not blood stains. Let's pray for them as they begin the healing journey "
